Historic Venue Locations

Destination weddings are becoming more of a common trend than in years past.  Offering the bride and groom endless amounts of options that they may not normally have back home.  Shooting a day-after photography session is one of our favorite destination wedding options for the newly married couple!  This past July we photographed Alana & Evin’s beautiful destination wedding overlooking the Atlantic ocean in Searsport, Maine & we followed it with a  day-after session the next day!  As Southeastern Maine has one of the most beautiful New England coastlines to photograph with several historic locations throughout the region.  We knew Alana & Evin were going to have an amazing day.

The first stop for our amazing day was the historic Nubble Lighthouse in York, Maine.  It doesn’t take long to understand why this is the most photographed lighthouse on the east coast.  We were just able to get a short shoot in before the heavy crowds took over for the day.

We were in beautiful sunny Miami this past week to photograph Farrah and Ali’s engagement at the historic Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.  Cynthia and I had so much fun photographing them throughout the gardens and continued their incredible session at South Pointe Park.  We can’t wait to come back to Miami next month for their 5-day wedding celebration!

I was getting ready to take a break from the long morning of shooting and this shot just presented it’s self.  Fresh out of high school… a young Michelle Wie passes in front of the historic Pine Needles hotel in Southern Pines.  This is my second image in my golf series reflecting back on amazing images I’ve captured during the US Women’s Open.

We have been so blessed with amazing couples this year and these two weren’t any different.  Our second half of our prenuptial session with Ali and Anila was just amazing as the first.  Enjoy!

We’ve been dancing around the rain for the past three weeks and I was sure our luck was going to run out on this stunning destination location for their prenuptial session.  As our morning start time approached… the clouds lighten up and it turned out to be a beautiful day.  Ali and Anila were amazing all day and a real pleasure to work with.

One of the things we truly enjoy about moving back to East Tennessee almost two years ago  is being so close to the Great Smokey Mountains National Park.  In just over an hour were entering the historic Cades Cove’s 11 mile loop which includes log cabin homesteads, church’s, hiking trails (Gregory Bald and Abrams Falls), beautiful mountains and all kinds of wild life running around.

Just about ready to put my camera away when my 17 month old puts her head down and goes into high gear after a baby deer-:)

This past weekend we joined several family’s at the Funny Bunny Day Easter Egg Hunt for an amazing day at the Crescent Bend in Knoxville.  The weather was perfect and the secondary garden beds were full of beautiful tulips.  The children had an amazing time with several egg hunts throughout the day with all kinds of arts and crafts functions in between.

The Easter eggs were filled with kid jokes that the children were able to turn in for special prizes.

Crescent Bend staff had their work cut out for them as they hide hundreds of eggs before each hunt.

Our 17 month old daughter (Addisyn) on her first Easter egg hunt!

All week they had called for rain and that would have surely spelled trouble for this beautiful garden wedding loaded with thousands of tulips in full bloom at the Crescent Bend Estate.   Brittany had selected the month of April and Crescent Bend location just for it’s amazing award-winning gardens.  The bride and groom showed up early and ready to go (a first in… I don’t know how many weddings) and the rain held off to make this one of the most beautiful garden weddings that we have covered in several years.
