I have really enjoyed reflecting back on these moments that I’ve captured of the US Women’s Open.  This is my third and finial entry of a three part series reflecting back on some amazing moments.  My daughter got up real early to make sure I finished this last entry this morning.  As you will see below…  my daughter is a big fan of Paula Creamer.  She has been wearing her pink shirt all week!  I’ve been around a lot of different sports throughout my life.  These women are amazing when it comes to their fans.  My daughter felt like she had 150 additional friends for a whole week.  Always going out of their way to say hello or just giving a small wave of the hand to a 3 year old.  One more thing…  my daughter is currently praying for rain so we can fly out and see the finish on Monday.

Paula Creamer after completing hole #2.  My daughter had no ideal that after this shoot was taken that one of her biggest hero’s was going to give her a signed ball.

Priceless.  Madilyn is wearing that very golf shirt today and glued  to the computer tracking this years US Women’s Open.

Annika Sorenstam after just teeing off from hole number 4 at Pine Needles in Southern Pines, NC.

Natalie Gulbis waiting her turn to tee off at hole number 3 at Pines Needles.

I was getting ready to take a break from the long morning of shooting and this shot just presented it’s self.  Fresh out of high school… a young Michelle Wie passes in front of the historic Pine Needles hotel in Southern Pines.  This is my second image in my golf series reflecting back on amazing images I’ve captured during the US Women’s Open.

With the start of the US Women’s Open golf tournment just around the corner at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  I thought it would be cool to post some images that I have captured in the past from the event.

This has to be one of my best shots I’ve ever captured during the US Women’s Open.  This is Ai Miyazato from Japan putting it on the green at hole number two at Pine Needles in Southern Pines, North Carolina.  Ai Miyazato is currently ranked 8th in the world.

Traveling over to Florence, South Carolina to cover Darlington Raceway’s luncheon at the Florence Civic Center with special guest Mark Martin brought back fond memory’s of the past.  We as a family when I was a kid would make our annual trip to Darlington Raceway for the Southern 500.  Those were the glory days of Nascar.  It was simple back then… lead, follow or I will move you out of my way and not necessarily in that order either.  The normal questions were cover during the session, but two questions stood out over the rest.  The first was in regards of Martin’s time in the number 6 vs his current ride with Hendrick Motorsports in the number 5 car.  Mark stated he enjoyed both, but during the earlier years it was all about winning championships.  Now it’s just simple having fun.  A person could write volumes on the expression on his face.  He glowed from within.  The other question that stood out was when he was asked about who his favorite driver/drivers are.  Richard Petty was 1st, but he kept repeating himself on the second one.  Cale Yarborough.  Now I was grinning ear to ear…  as Cale was the first driver I ever pulled for.  I’ll be pulling for Martin when Nascar returns to Darlington on May 8th.
